Dear compatriots,

I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia.
On 21 September 1991, in the result of the Independence referendum in Armenia, 99% of the votes were given in favor of the independence.
By declaring Independence, the Armenian people reaffirmed their centuries-old aspiration to live in a free state, to decide their own destiny and to develop, and to create in peace.
30 years have passed since that day. We have reached today’s reality by overcoming many difficulties, addressing serious challenges and enduring bloody wars.
In this historically short period our Homeland has realized many reforms in all spheres of life and has assumed its rightful place in the vast international family of states.
We are resolute to take consistent steps to further develop and strengthen our Homeland and ensure the prosperity of our people.
I am sure that our Homeland will reach these noble goals relying on the integrity of the all parts of our nation, our rich traditions, our strong faith.
We need to realize clearly that the Independence is, first of all, the right and the responsibility to consistently work for the new achievements with the sense of pride for them.
The defense of security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the just solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, and strengthening the favorable regional and international environment around the Republic of Armenia are continuing to be the priorities.
I am sure that despite the difficulties the people of Artsakh are resolute to safeguard and develop the achievements of the previous years and to strengthen the free statehood. That would be the greatest tribute to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the independence. On this historical day we bow to the memory of those who died for the defense and freedom of Artsakh.
Although the war has ended, there are many urgent issues, and first of all the affirmation of the rights of thousands of our sisters and brothers in Artsakh to live freely, decently and to develop in their historical homeland -- that would be possible through the final clarification of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the new Program of the Government of Armenia, its greatest mission is to open a new page in peaceful development of Armenia and the region, to establish long-term and stable, peaceful environment for all.

Dear compatriots,
Today we are linked with two memorable events: Independence day of the Republic of Armenia and the Independence day of the Republic of Bulgaria. It is symbolic that our two national holidays are following one another.
Armenian-Bulgarian relations are based on many historical and cultural ties that are a great foundation for the comprehensive development of the interstate relations. Armenia has always been perceived as a traditionally friendly state by Bulgaria and vice versa.
The cooperation with Bulgaria is also valued in the context of the relations of Armenia with the European Union.
Although the world-spread pandemic seriously intervened in our everyday life and the bilateral agenda of Armenia-Bulgaria relations, I am sure that the Armenian Community of Bulgaria will continue its role as a unique bridge and contribute to the strengthening and developing the friendly relations between the two peoples more actively.

Dear sisters and brothers,
I again congratulate us all on the occasion of this important anniversary. I am sure, that the next thirty years of Armenian statehood will be more productive, as a result of our work and joint efforts of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora.
I wish peace and new achievements to our Homeland. I wish us all deep understanding of our free statehood and the realization of the goals and programs aimed at the strengthening of our State.

Happy Independence Day

Long live the Republic of Armenia

Long live the Republic of Bulgaria

Long live Armenian-Bulgarian friendship.
