Commemoration events were held in Sofia dedicated to 108th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

23 April 2023 a commemoration event was held at the Armenian Khachkar (Cross-stone) in Yerevan Park/Sofia, dedicated to the 108^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In his speech Ambassador Armen Yedigarian noted that, that even in the context of the collapsing modern world order, and continuous creeping aggression of Azerbaijan against Armenia, it is necessary to note two events, first that after the devastating earthquake of February in Turkey, Armenia, having humanitarian motives, offered its help to the people of Turkey, and second, that an agreement was reached at the level of Special Representatives of Armenia and Turkey, to enable the crossing of the land border between Armenia and Turkey by third-country citizens.

Ambassador Yedigarian noted, that since the Genocide, the Armenian people’s just struggle has never been against the Turkish people, but against the denialist policy of Turkish authorities, and highlighted the crucial and valuable role of the Armenian Diaspora in that.

Ambassador Yedigarian, addressing the Bulgarian-Armenians called them to activate their efforts to commemorate the 24^th of April as the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day in Bulgaria, including in the National Assembly.
